Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bulb also failed after less than two weeks My experience matches another reviewer's - the new bulb failed after about ten days. What is there to get wrong? It's an OVEN LAMP. This bulb should do two things: 1) emit light; 2) be immune to the heat of an oven. It fails on both counts! Why bother going to the trouble of manufacturing and distributing something so poor? Gnash! If I'm charitable perhaps it was a bad batch. Maybe they used normal solder that melts at 215 degC? Schoolboy error! I'm in such a huff I haven't bothered to remove the failed bulb to inspect it. but every time I gaze into the pitch-black oven, I'm reminded of this folly. In case it matters, the box said 'Eveready'. Once reputable. However, do not buy!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Max c Googled this product on line as I wanted the same bulb that had gone in my oven, which was a Philips brand. It brought up the same bulb to be purchased at Maplin. When I went to purchase this last week it was a none branded bulb not the Philips one showing on the on line picture, at the same cost of the Philips bulb. I have done this review today as the bulb has blown after 3 days. Extremely disappointed, and will not be going back for a replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this bulb Should have listened to the reviews. Bought this bulb for my daughter's oven and it blew within 24 hours. It was an Everyready brand, which I thought would have been good quality but those days must have gone. The original bulb which had lasted for years was a GE brand so I will now try and find a replacement. Not worth the petrol going back to Maplin. This was my first ever purchase from Maplin and I won't be going there again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Direct replacement for my Baumatic oven. Bought one of these oven lamps in June 2009. It's just failed after 6 years so no complaints other than it has virtually doubled in price. I'll get my replacement lamp from Maplin.
