Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice Idea, looks great...but it all ends there This was purchased to transfer photo's from an ipad (recognising it is limited to this ref the review on the 64gb version) The instructions are poor and difficult to follow as much of the application is different to that described. The functionality to upload ipad photos via the app does not work at all and the connection required to set up to allow continued use of internet whist connected to this device just hangs whilst connecting, as this could be bad enough but could be related to setting it up... There is a link to a FAQ site, that is an empty page and submitting a help request on the manufacturers site has resulted in no support response. If it worked as described it would be great. Maplin shows last few available, I would suggest if you are looking for something to take pictures from an ipad that you leave these last few with Maplin to return to the manufacturer.

Can I connect this to my iPad and play music directly to my Sonos Connect Amp without using up the memory on the iPad? I believe it must support SMB/CIFS file sharing protocols to do this.

Asked by: Podge59
I am sorry but the item in question does not support use in your intended application.

would I be able to put my music on this and then play from this through my sonos system with my pc turned off, using it as the music library. Currently using the sonos app to play my complete music collection requires my pc to be on as that is where the library is or I can play from the local source that the app is running from, ie phone/tablet.

With the correct apps, you can connect the speakers and the hard drive.
