Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful and easy to use I used this to transfer files from an old pentium computer with only floppy drive and CD access. Easy to set up and use, I transferred all the files in less than an hour, and finally managed to get rid of the old computer :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor build quality Only had this 5 days. Worked fine for the first few times, can be a bit fiddley with the wiring, the ide cable is very poorly put together as upon removal from my hard drive the connector snapped and pulled the grey cable off, so now I have half a connector stuck inside my hard drive. Gonna try return it and get a docking station instead.

I bought one of these a while ago, it got knocked and the power connector pins are now bent. Would you be able to tell me what type of connector it is so that I can try to buy a new one? Seems like either a DIN 4PIN or maybe a kycon 4-pin

Asked by: cjeff
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

Hi I want a case for an external SSD drive that can be powered separately from the USB host to give a silent file store for a Raspberry Pi audio server.  Will this do that (would need 3.5 - 2.5 adapter) and what is the "PSU cable" and what powers it?

Asked by: John
This would not be suitable for an SSD you would be best using the one below, powered by the USB cable:

How can I connect a Seagate 1F2168-568 HDD to this enclosure ? The data and power connectors are different ! I bought one today from Maplins, Staples Corner as it said it worked with any SATA, IDE drive

Asked by: Muzz
The item should work with any standard IDE or SATA drive if the drive you are using has a different foot print this will not work.
