There are 3 wires that make up the cable that I have to fasten to the Stereo Plug. 1 wire is bare, 1 is white plastic coated and 1 is red plastic coated. Is there any particular order these three wires need attaching in, should they be soldered?

Asked by: DavidP
These should be soldered, the order would depend on what you are attaching this to both in terms of the device and the socket. If this is for stereo speakers or headphones the standard TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) wiring pattern would be as follows: Tip - Left Channel Ring - Right Channel Sleeve - Ground

As much as we would love to be able to help here, as Technical Support Advisors we cannot offer design project advice or assistance, we are more than happy to locate products and support you with your purchases but we are not able to design entire circuits or projects for you. If you do have the design/circuit information detailing the value of the components needed we will be happy to locate these for you. Sorry we could not help resolve your query on this occasion.

PLEASE CAN YOU SUPPLY ME WITH SOME INFO WITH REGARDS TO INTERNAL CONNECTIVITY .IE FRONT PIN = MIDDLE PIN = BACK PIN = AND ANY OTHER RELEVANT INFO MANY THANKS
Asked by: ANDY GEORGE
The plug must be wired in accordance with the equipment being used. In a typical stereo audio application the tip is used for left audio, the ring for right audio and the sleeve for shield/ground. Contact the equipment manufacturer for their socket wiring configuration.

Could you give the outside diameter of this plug. I need to plug two into adjacent sockets on my computer. The sockets are only ~11mm apart.
