What are the features of this torch?
The 3W LED COB light is perfect for camping, caving, travelling and numerous other applications including emergency use. It is lightweight, and has two methods of fixing; strong magnets to attach to almost all metal objects, and a swivel hook for hanging. Due to the COB technology, one single 3W LED is enough to light up to 15 meters, and provides a fantastic 100 lumens of light.

What is a COB light?
COB (Chips on Board) is a new LED packaging technology used in making LED light engines. Multiple LED chips are packaged together as one lighting module. When it is lit up, it looks like a lighting panel, rather than a small bulb. They emit light over a much wider area and provide a higher power density.

I have a torch with order code A18JQ which says Maplin Electronics S63 5DL . It contains 4 AA batteries. How should the batteries be inserted? I have tried all 4 facing the same way. Also 2 + first and the other two reversed. No luck.

The plastic housing behind the batteries will give a pictorial indication of orientation. This lamp has a hanging hook at the top. The batteries in the left hand column should be fitted with positive terminals facing toward the hook The batteries in the right hand column should be fitted with negative terminals facing toward the hook If you are still struggling to place the batteries in the device correctly I would advise attending one of our stores where one of our helpful store colleagues can assist you.
