Can you confirm if this panel, along with it's associated controller, would be suitable to be left permanently connected to a dual purpose battery for charging? e.g the controller handles overcharge etc?

Asked by: Marc
Yes this will work fine in your intended application.

Can this be mounted on a caravan roof satisfactorily and does it need any other bits to acheive this are all mountings supplied
Asked by: Dave Perriman
If you were to mount it to the roof of a road faring vehicle it would have to be done professionally, there are laws which can be upheld for incorrect mounting of solar equipment on moving vehicles.

Can this unit be permanently mounted on a boat?
Asked by: Tom Armstrong
This depends on whether it is meant for salt water or in land. Salt water will corrode the connections, so could cause damage and in these conditions, we would not recommend mounting on a boat. However, in normal inland conditions (rain, canal water etc), it shouldn't be a problem.

Would this kit be suitable for use to power the "average" homes lighting? What other items would I need to do this? Many thanks
Asked by: A.Bowman
no - this, like most solar panels, provides 12V with a peak output of 3.5A. It will not work with mains electric devices.
