Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alligator Clips Beware!! These are not 4mm. Went to my local Maplins and took one of the leads from my Fluke 115(which are 4mm) Tried one of these clips, and they do not fit. They are smaller than 4mm. Maplins need to update their information regarding these clips

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful, but not 4mm I bought a pair of these. They do not have a 4mm socket, instead, they fit onto standard sized 2mm probe tips. As such they do have their uses, for example they fit onto my Fluke T90 voltage tester. It's also worth noting that they are CAT III 1000V 10A .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pleased with these after modification Although advertised as 4mm these are fitted with a brass coloured insert which is lightly soldered in place. When I removed these inserts they fit my 4mm plugs well. Have found it difficult to find 4mm alligator clips so pleased to have got these.

Are these a solder or crimp connection?

Asked by: stuart
Neither, you would put the 4mm probe from your multitester into the 4 mm female socket at the rear of this alligator clip, quintessentially it changes a standard 4 mm probe lead into an alligator connector.

When you say that these will fit 4mm test leads, what exactly do you define as the diameter of the lead? The actual probe dia Is around 2mm on a fluke, when you take off the probe protection tips, there is a banana type connection on the test leads.

These are definitely not 4mm. I have been into my local Maplins today, and actually tried them with one of my test leads from a Fluke 115, which are 4mm and they do not fit these Alligator Clips. You need to change the description of these clips, as they will cause confusion. Thanks

Will these clips fit a Fluke 115 test leads which are 4mm? There is an answer saying that these are not actually 4mm. Can you please confirm their size.

Asked by: Martin
This should work fine with 4mm plugs.
