Rated 1 out of 5 by from Incorrect advertising of equipment specifications This was bought to replace a similar adaptor that supplies outside 'fairy' lights, secondary output of 4.5VDC Maximum load 6W. This is exactly as detailed in the description of this item on your web page. However it states on the box, once I had bought this item, that it is 4.5VDC maximum load of 5.4W . Also the advertised picture shows a 12V 400mA 4.8VA AC/DC adaptor which is not what the detailed headline description states. Basically all the overview information advertised is incorrect. I have yet to fit this item and hopefully the erroneous data will not affect the operation of such.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quaity Rubbish, Rip off price Bought this item 2 weeks ago from Maplin and already it has stopped working. I was using it at 5 watt voltage and the green light stayed on even when the power pack was switched off at the mains. Now the power pack isn't working at all. Definitely wont be buying this product again £19.99 down the drain

the led on the plug when it flashes does it mean that it is charging or when it stays on does that mean it's charging?

Asked by: Coxy
Normal working operation should give a solid light if the plug is receiving power. A flashing LED would usually indicate either a fluctuating supply to the plug or connection to a device trying to draw more power than the supply is capable of. If you would like us to help investigate further, please contact us at technical@maplin.co.uk with further details of what you are trying to charge.

Can I use this to power the igniter on a gas fire. The Gas fire currently uses three 1.5v Duracell type C batteries connected in series. The reason for the change is that the batteries do not last very long. Thank you.
