Hi, What length is the thread. I have one of these with 8mm and it is not long enough to go through the speaker cabinet enclosure. 10mm might do it, 15mm to be extra safe. Thanks!

Asked by: andyg_prs
The 18.2mm dimension could be the width....but that doesn't describe the length of the thread from the "shoulder" of the unit to the tip of the thread. That thread has to go through a cabinet and leave sufficient turns to put the nut onto....

Which connection would the core be soldered to, & which connection for the braid when using co-axial cable?

Asked by: Anglia
This kind of connector would normally be used for Audio Interconnect, as such you would not use coaxial. The wiring is your choice based on how you have wired the rest of the cable and connectors.

What is the pinout and what are the connections please?
Asked by: Owen Woods
It is a standard 1/4" jack socket with 4 connections. One connects to the tip of an inserted plug and one connects to the body (ground) of an inserted plug. The other two connect to these two connections when no plug is inserted. Inserting the plug breaks the connection. This is useful for disconnecting an internal loudspeaker, for instance, if a headphone plug is inserted.

Are you sure that this socket mounts in a 11mm hole?
Asked by: wwwampmakercom
The diameter of the mounting barrel is exactly 11mm. You may want to allow a small tolerance (0.4mm?).
