Product overview

  • Twin AD-01 solderless breadboards mounted on a AD-10 base board
  • 5 individual screw terminals to accept 4mm banana plugs, stripped wire or a 4.5mm Y-terminal
  • additional matrix of 30 by 6 sockets for non-DIP based components

A range of solderless breadboard modules that can interconnect to suit individual requirements. The basic board AD-01 consists of four blocks of six columns of 28 rows, the sockets in each row being interconnected. The blocks are a standard DIP size apart, although MSI and LSI type chips can be used. At both ends of the blocks, there are two power busses. The ‘Red’ bus is made up of two separate rows of 12 connecting sockets, and the ‘Black’ bus is one row of 24 connecting sockets

There is an additional matrix of 30 by 6 sockets for non-dip type components. The six sockets in the vertical plane are interconnected. Each socket will accept solid wire from 20 to 30 swg (0•3 to 0•8mm). The AD-10 power block has 5 individual screw terminals that will accept 4•5mm Y-terminal, stripped wire or 4mm banana plug. Each terminal is connected to two sockets. The power block will snap lock onto the AD-01 base board to allow connections to the required power bus. The power block has the same ‘sticky’ base. After use the modules can be unlocked and remade into a different configuration.

AD-12 is two AD-01 and one AD-10 mounted on a blue base board. Size: 183 x 168mm

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These are well designed and laid out, particularly with the four vertical gangs which leave space for plenty of DIP components. The quality of the plastic facing is reasonable - after extended use the dovetail connectors for joining boards begin to fail. The sprung pins are usually good quality, occasionally one will be bent out of shape and impossible or difficult to use. Be wary of using these boards without the (blue) plastic holder, as the contacts are bare open metal on the bottom and easy to short on offcuts of wire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What can I say? It's a big breadboard - actually a bunch of breadboards all held together and with five handy connection posts added for good measure. Handles all my circuit needs in a single, easy to pick up and shift platform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For a beginner, these breadboards are superb. They've really helped with my coursework at college, and the fact they can so easily be connected together is a brilliant feature. I've recommended these to all my classmates and I will certainly be back for more. Brilliant!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this breadboard AD 13 today and loved using it. I have noticed that this product is actually a combination of Breadboard AD-01 and Breadboard AD-11. So in fact you buying two boards under the price of one. Both boards are solidly merged with a robust plastic base which you can unscrew if you like. Board is quite wider and gives you enough room to play with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made and Looks Smart I am very pleased with this breadboard. It seems to be well made, looks very elegant and - so far - functions fine. (In the past, with a different breadboard, I found the connections between the terminal posts and the adjacent pin holes to be dodgy.) This is just the thing for my Arduino projects! And it arrived promptly, too.

This AD-12 unit did not come with stick base and therefore slides all over the bench, purchased within the last month. Also where do I get banana plugs that actually fir the binding posts (five) at the top?

Does this breadboard come with a component bracket like the three post breadboards do, or are component brackets available separately for it please?

Asked by: Shaun1960
I am pleased to advise the product you mentioned will do exactly what you require.
