What do seweble NeoPixels do?
These stylishly colourful RGB LEDs are perfect for all sorts of maker projects due to their high versatility. They can be sewn or soldered and can have a number of them linked in succession. There are also small arrows printed onto the circuit board to show the digital in to the LED, and one to show digital out of the LED, to ensure that it is wired correctly.

What is a NeoPixel?
A NeoPixel is a 5mm by 5mm square LED that can host 24-bit colour. To put that in perspective that’s 16,777,216 different shades of colour available to you with each LED, mixing red, green and blue. They use built-in drivers so there’s minimal preparation and next to no coding required to get going.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you can speak to all the LEDs individually, telling them what colour and brightness to display. They also ensure no matter how many LEDs are active or changing, you will always get the same quality of colour, and the same brightness throughout.

These NeoPixels only require 3v – 9v to power, and at full brightness use 60mA per LED. In addition to this you only need to use one digital pin to control a range of NeoPixels, making it very easy to implement into any project.

What library will I need to use?
NeoPixels can be easily controlled using Adafruits NeoPixel library available here. An Arduino library allows quick and easy programming for a vast range of projects. In the case of the NeoPixel library, it allows you to quickly manipulate any number of NeoPixel LEDs individually.
