About this product

Overview

Product overview

• Suitable for lithium-polymer and lithium-ion 3.7V and 4.2V batteries
• Status LEDs tell you whether the battery is fully charged
• You can mount this charger in a case and recharge your project easily – making this great for portable projects
• Charge your batteries with this adapter using any Micro USB cable

Getting started and utilising the pinouts
Simply connect a micro-USB cable into this charging adapter and connect your 2-pin JST battery. This device will do the rest for you.

This USB battery charger also comes with pinouts, which can power your projects directly from USB or battery pinouts. Caution is advised if you’re looking to connect both to your circuit.

What batteries can I use with this charger?
This charger is only to be used with lithium-polymer or lithium-ion batteries that are 3.7V or 4.2V only. Batteries are connected via the 2-pin JST connection, for which a cable is provided. Two LEDs help you determine whether the battery is currently charging (red), and when the battery is fully charged (green).

Takes care of your batteries
This charger works in three stages. It firstly performs an initial preconditioning charge which will help prevent improper charging of depleted batteries. After preconditioning, the charger offers a constant-current fast charge to reach full charge as quickly as possible. When the battery is full, this charger will supply a trickle charge to keep it safely topped up.

If you are looking to store your batteries for a period of time, it is advised to store them with a charge of 50 per cent. This will help ensure the maximum overall life of your battery.

As much as we would love to be able to help here, we cannot offer design project advice or assistance, we are more than happy to locate products and support you with your purchases but we are not able to design entire circuits or projects for you. If you do have the design/circuit information detailing the value of the components needed we will be happy to locate these for you.

On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.
