What can I store on this hard drive?
This hard drive has 1TB (1,000GB) of storage, which will give you plenty of space for your files. You can store up to 7.75 hours of 4K video at 30fps, 33 hours of 1080p video at 30fps, 250 two-hour DVD films, 320,000 digital photos or 16,300 hours of digital music.

Why should I get this portable HDD?
This HDD is both useful and aesthetically pleasing. The DashDrive HV620 external hard drive offers you a vast 1TB memory capacity, while the sleek and glossy housing is easy on the eye. A raised lip on the edge of the drive protects the surface from scratching when the drive is laid flat. The latest specification USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface provides the power and speed needed for conventional storage and backup applications.

What difference does USB 3.0 make?
USB 3.0, when plugged into a USB 3.0 socket, can transfer data up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Reassuringly, this hard drive is also backwards compatible, meaning you can also use it with USB 2.0 without needing to update your computer. USB 3.0 means you spend less time waiting to ensure that your documents, pictures and videos are safely stored on your external hard drive.

I asked instore if this would work as an external drive for a cctv , this does not seem to work though, do I need to do anything with it first

Asked by: chris
The drive is for use on a PC/Laptop or Mac (with correct formatting). Most CCTV systems support connection of USB sticks/pendrives to extract footage but rarely support the connection of Hard drives. The only ones I know of are certain Swann units but the drive must be an e-SATA drive connected to the dedicated e-SATA port on that recorder.
