If your TV picture displays "herringbone" patterns or your FM reception is overloaded with distortion, the signal may be too strong. These attenuators reduce the signal strength to correct these problems. They simply connect in-line with the aerial lead and feature a standard coax socket at one end and a standard coax plug at the other. They have bright aluminium alloy bodies and are suitable for VHF and UHF. They have low VSWR and are clearly marked. Length 45mm (approx).

With the attenuators an it be placed between aerial and lab gear splitter/amplifier of does it have to be directly in tv?

This would have to be directly into the TV.

We have an indoor aerial with good signal quality but we get interference from the HDMI cable when the HDD DVD player is switched on. We lose some channels entirely. We don't get  interference when using a SCART cable instead. Do we need an attenuator ?
