This desktop air purifier works by drawing in air through a HEPA filter at the base of the unit and using nano ionisation technology to neutralise the particles, releasing clean air out of the top. By removing irritants such as dust, pollen, mildew and bacteria from the air, this machine can help to ease the symptoms of common health issues such as asthma, hay fever, coughs and colds. Stylish in design, with quiet operation and two power settings, it is suitable for use both around the home and at the office.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This filter lasts about 2 months I bought one of these for my office and then for no reason it just refused to turn on. I took it back and had an identical replacement, work fine for a couple of months and now it has happened again! Both filters were treated carefully but I suspect there is a poor connection where the power cable plugs into the unit. I strongly recommend that Maplin feed this experience back to their suppliers, meanwhile this one is going back to Maplin - this time for a refund. Very disappointing, it's fine while it works!

There are no instructions regarding filter or where the filter is there is a tube that fits in the base what is it for. Your instruction sheet makes no mention of any of this. How do I know when the filter is full what do I do.

Does this unit (A40QB) Remove tobacco smoke. Second time of asking. Best regards Alan Cahill
Asked by: Alan
Tobacco smoke contains gaseous and particulate contaminants. Some of these particles will be too small for the filter to extract although it will filter most of it from the air.
