The C1000S small diaphragm condenser microphone is a great versatile microphone. Great for recording and live performances as well as ENG/EFP and video productions. Customise your microphone as you like with two different patterns - cardioid and hypercardiod - with the converter. Use the attenuation selector switch to increase your mic level for clearer recording with loud noises or when close to the source. The bass-cut selector helps reduce rumble and wind noise. Boost the sensitivity of the microphone by approximately 5 dB between 5-9 kHz for greater clarity on speech. With a gold sputtered microphone capsule and solid aluminium shaft you get a hard wearing mic with a greater resistance to humidity.
What position does this condenser microphone pick sound up?
Both cardioid and hyper-cardioid polar patterns have much greater sensitivity to sounds directly in front of the microphone. The cardioid pattern cuts out much of the noise to the sides and behind the mic perfect for recording or live performances with an audience or where there is a single sound you want to focus. Hyper-cardioid narrow the focus further great for areas were you want to minimalize outside sounds like on a stage. The C1000S does not come with a cable but you can use a standard XLR cable to connect the male connection to your equipment.
What is the advantage of having a condenser microphone?
Condenser microphones are the most common type of microphones for recording audio. They are often used in recording studios as they have a greater ability to reproduce all the audio of an instrument or voice. Using phantom power, condenser microphones usually have a louder output but can be more sensitive to loud sounds. The C1000S can be used with a 9-52V phantom power over a cable or without using two AA batteries (replacement Order Code L43AL) to power the microphone instead for up to 120 hours.
