Whether you’re performing in front of a crowd or recording in a studio this is the mic for you. This cardioid condenser microphone gives you great a pickup of whatever it is pointed at. With a 24 carat gold plated transducer case you get maximum resistance to corrosion and humidity and the dent-resistant steel grille and zinc alloy housing gives a protective and durable microphone. A built-in pop filter and transducer shock mount reduce handling and breathing noise to get you a great sound all the time.
What positions does this condenser microphone pick up sound?
The C5 uses a cardioid pattern to pick up sound. Cardioid microphones are sensitive to sound in front of them while cutting out noise at the sides and behind the microphone. The C5 includes a presence booster to enhance the 5-9 kHz range by approximately 5dB to improve the audibility of speech. With an integrated shock absorber you can effectively eliminate handling noise.
What is the advantage of having a condenser microphone?
Condenser microphones are the most common type of microphones for recording audio. They are often used in recording studios as they have a greater ability to reproduce all the audio of an instrument or voice. Using phantom power, condenser microphones usually have a louder output but can be more sensitive to loud sounds. The C5 can be connected with a standard XLR lead (not included) for the male connector on the microphone to your equipment.
