Product overview

• 20W continuous (RMS) power output with 60W peak output to give you a clear quality audio
• An active speaker that has a built-in amplifier
• Ideal for a small venue, in a studio or at home
• Phono (RCA) input to give you maximum compatibility with audio products

How powerful is this speaker?
This monitor speaker system will be ideal for making you raise your roof as the compact design of the monitor speaker makes use of the 60W peak output and will allow you to easily position the Elevate 3 speakers easily and quickly.

What connections does this speaker come with?
The Alesis Elevate 3 monitor speaker system comes with twin Phono (RCA) connections. This will allow you to connect a wide range of products such as computers, tablets, smart phones and MP3 players.

Does the speaker require an amplifier?
This is an active speaker with a built-in amplifier. This means you can connect an iPod or CD player directly to the speaker for it to play.

What is the difference between RMS and peak output?
RMS, which measures a speaker’s average power output, will allow you to compare various speakers of a similar size regardless of brand. The peak output is the maximum power the speaker can handle from the amplifier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Clear Sound I got these speakers for my bedroom as I did not want anything too large or too powerful, but I did want good clear sound. I use these for djing and listening to music. Sound wise good but subwoofer needed if you like lot of bass. Only downside I had is one of the speaker cone caps has slight dent not sure if I may of done it or was already, but it does not effect the sound in anyway so I not too bothered and I happy with them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from value Not bad at all. Good clear sound. Obviously lacks true bass but a great step up when used with a PC. Can't handle too much power so DONT expect stadium quality for this price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great speakers for a small home studio I purchased these speakers to use with my home studio set up.The speakers give you balanced sound allowing you to listen to how your recordings actually sound.Sound even better with a subwoofer attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicked Absolutely love these speakers, wicked for low, and high end!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Garbage These speakers are awful. The treble is harsh, the mid-range is muddy, and the bass is "honky". I wasn't expecting the earth for such cheap speakers, but these are unusable. I didn't even give them away, I just sent them to the recycling centre. I am now using a pair of Creative T15 speakers which are great. I also have the Creative D100 and MUVO 10 compact speakers which are also great. So I f you want good quality speakers at a budget price, think Creative!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad whine from speakers - otherwise great! Bough these to use with my TV. Took the first pair back due to unacceptable high pitched whine when in use and even when switched off (and still plugged in). The second set have the same issue - massive disappointment, especially for 'monitors'. I tried different sources, locations, power conditioners etc with no difference. Apart from this, small, good sounding speakers with a very useful subwoofer output (full range) for when you need more bass. A nice feature is the standby mode when no sound for around 30mins. Retina searing, blue LED on the front is slightly annoying but easily sorted. Sound wise, pretty good for their size and with a bass boost button if you need it. I recommend experimenting with this and the bass ports on the rear. Overall, these speakers are clear, perhaps slightly harsh at times - probably due in part to the lack of bi-amping or real crossover on the treble unit but what do you expect for the price?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Alesis 3 Evaluate Active Speakers I really want to like these speakers, but its hard when they 'purr' when there's no sound coming through them. I'm running them off my Mac Mini via a pro cable, which both are new, so the 'noise' is sadly coming from the speakers Sound quality is reasonable - if you ignore the purring.

I have a Sony turntable with connected phono leads. It has an option on the turntable to use phono Or line out. Would these speakers require use of the phono option on the turntable and will they sound better than if I use the line out option.

Asked by: Foz25
The Phono connection would always give a better sound option.
