You can plug dynamic, condenser and wireless microphones into the first two channels, as well has having two stereo channel inputs for keyboards, drum machines and other instruments. You can also easily plug in your MP3 player, CD player, or audio from a DVD player into the CD/tape inputs, as well as having two AUX outputs that can be used to send audio from your mixer to a digital effects unit, stage monitor or any number of sources.

What does phantom power do?
Phantom power is DC electric power transmitted through microphone cables to operate microphones that contain active electronic circuitry. This is so you can use more sensitive microphones, such as condenser microphones, with your mixer and enjoy the best quality sound.

What does "high headroom" mean?
If a mixer has higher headroom, this means you have less distortion when it comes to playing your music through the mixer. This, ultimately, gives you a far better sound that those with a low headroom which will distort the sound output more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Re Alto ZMX862 mixer. I purchased this mixer from Maplin in Llanelli 10 days ago. The staff were brill and helped with information to set the mixer up. It is an excellent piece of equipment, feeding:- 1) a guitar pedalboard with 8 effects on it, 2) a large portable keyboard used for backing tracks, 3) a laptop used for different backing tracks, into a guitar amp. Once set up, I have not touched it! The mixer performs without fault, and I wish I had bought it long ago. I have recommended it to friends, and would recommend it to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Item Ever since I received this item it has not let me down and I was happy to discover I could plug my phone into it, and also both of my keyboards. I have used it many times and every time I use it I get super high quality sound from it. I would recommend this item to anyone who is new to mixing, or has a home studio and wants a nice mixer to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use I am no expert with audio equipment and I was advised to buy this unit so that I could accomplish some simple mixing tasks without having to learn too much. Early experience showed that this unit provides all that I need and gives me all the control I need. Typical use is mono input from one or two wireless microphone systems and stereo from laptop running PowerPoint. This means that I am using a small fraction of the total capability of this unit but that's all I need for now. I have now bought two more units to cover multiple locations I am very happy with the advice I was given at the start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for what I needed! Bought this mixer to solve an issue with having two outputs going to one input. With the right cables I was able to hook up my pc and ps4 to my M audio monitor speakers (also purchased from maplin) and it works a charm! I can even control volume without having to reach behind euipment and it saves the hassle of switching cables over. The sound quality is superb also, and the EQ really brings these monitors to life! There's even an aux you can use with your headphones and they really bring out the quality in music if you're sporting a good pair of cans!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This mixer is brilliant for professional or home use. Easy to use and not oversized. Has all the right things for a relatively cheap price. The Phantom power source come in useful when there is a power cut or you don't have enough plugs. Overall I think that this mixer is AMAZING!

If I plugged my guitar into this would it amplify the sound when i output it through my speakers ? (krk rokit rpg 5)

Asked by: JustBazaX
Your speakers have amplifiers built in (I have KRK RP6's), this item is only a mixer, so no, it shouldn't amplify the signal.

Does this item have phantom power for condenser mic?

Asked by: simpleton
This information is presented in the user guide/datasheet for the device, which can be found on the downloads tab of the product listing. However if you are using a mobile phone or tablet to view our website it may not be visible. To this end I have copied in a link to the electronic version of the instructions as well as a brief summary of the requested information below for your convenience. https://maplindownloads.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/N16NKB51NXQSG-2683.pdf Page 4. 30. PHANTOM POWER – This switch activates and deactivates phantom power. When activated, phantom power supplies +48V to the XLR mic inputs and the LED above the switch will be lit. Please note that most dynamic microphones do not require phantom power, while most condenser microphones do. Consult your microphone’s documentation to find out whether it needs phantom power.
