“Alexa, show my calendar”
The Echo Spot takes Alexa to the next level by putting everything you love about Echo devices into a brand new compact design. Ask Alexa to show your calendar, the weather, or a video flash briefing and watch as it appears on your screen. With the clock functionality, you can set musical alarms and personalise your clock with a collection of clock faces to suit your style, or choose a background from Prime Photos. Keep in touch with your friends and family using voice calls between supported Alexa devices and the Alexa app or make video call to anyone with an Echo Spot, Echo Show or the Alexa app.
“Alexa, show me the front door”
Use the Echo Spot as a voice controller for your compatible smart home devices by connecting them and enabling an Alexa skill. View a live camera feed from your ring doorbell, turn on the heating, or dim the lights from the comfort of your sofa. Get multiple devices to work together at scheduled times or with a personalised voice command, like locking the doors and turning off the lights when it’s bedtime. The Echo Spot, like other Echo devices, is compatible with smart devices from your favourite brands like Ring, Arlo, Philips Hue, TP-Link, WeMo, Hive, Sony and many more.
“Alexa, play my video flash briefing”
Get quick access to news and information that you can see and hear by asking your Echo Spot for a video flash briefing from the BBC, The Telegraph and more. Play the trailer for an upcoming movie or get the show times on screen just by asking. The Echo spot can also help you keep organised at home. Set a timer for your kitchen and watch as it counts down, or keep an eye on your family calendar and manage it with ease. Add items to your Alexa shopping list when you are at home using the Echo Spot and see it updated live to the Alexa app for whoever is out shopping to be aware of any last-minute additions.
“Alexa, Turn It up”
Use your voice and step into the world of hands free control of your music with the Echo Spot. Use Amazon music and watch as the display comes alive to show song lyrics, curated playlists and album art. The Echo Spot can also connect to Spotify, TuneIn, Audible, Radioplayer and more, and you can control them all with your voice. You can even use the built-in Bluetooth receiver to stream from other music services using your smartphone or tablet. (Please be aware that multi-room is not available when using Bluetooth audio input).
“Alexa, Drop In on the Kitchen”
The Echo Spot allows you to make voice and video calls to anyone with an Echo device or the Alexa app on a smartphone or tablet. Too busy in the kitchen making dinner? Ask Alexa to call from your Echo Spot. You can even Drop In on an Echo device in your home for quick contact within the home, or add close friends and family to the list and Drop In to Echo’s in the homes of your friends and family to say hi to mum before dinner.
“Alexa, how smart are you?”
Alexa is the cloud based voice assistant from Amazon that is always getting smarter. As you continue to use your Echo Spot, it will adapt to your speech patterns, vocabulary and personal preferences. Thanks to the Echo Spot being constantly connected, any updates are delivered automatically. Alexa skills give you even more abilities like being able to plan your commute, control your Fire TV player, and book a cab. New skills are added regularly and you can also see ratings and reviews to learn what other customers are saying about skills in the Alexa app.
