What makes this soldering iron unique?
This mains powered soldering iron has a 30W output and is supplied with a soldering iron stand. This stand will securely hold your iron when it is not in use. The size of this soldering iron makes it ideal for miniature precision soldering such as replacing a component on a PCB.

What difference does the wattage make?
The wattage of a soldering iron is one of the most important factors when deciding which one to buy. Higher wattage will deliver more power to the iron’s tip, allowing it to heat up quicker. As this is a 30W mains soldering iron, it heats up the tip within three minutes, allowing you to start soldering without having to refill butane tanks or replace batteries.

Do I need anything else for this soldering iron?
To get started, this soldering iron will require solder. It is supplied with a stand to hold the soldering iron when not in use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hopeless stand Just arrived today, I haven't used it yet because the stand is just a folded piece of tin with nowhere for a sponge. I thought the price was too good with a stand! Having said that I have had Antex irons before and they're pretty good, especially considering the price. My existing iron is still going strong and is excellent for a fixed temperature iron. Because the stand is so useless I will probably return it and get a proper separate stand to go with the 25W Antex as it's cheaper than buying a stand separately for this model and I don't know if the ST4 stand will take this iron.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I've had one of these for a couple of years using it on and off and i would absolutely not bother buying it again. The tip simply doesnt get hot enough to melt solder so i found myself heating the wires and solder using the base near the handle. So any precision work is impossible. i now only use this iron for plastic welding. Spend a little bit more and get something that does what it should.
