What can I expect from this router?
Whether you work in a busy office or access the Internet at home, the ASUS RT-AC68U provides enough bandwidth for multiple wireless users via smartphones, tablets or laptops. Whilst wired connections provide stable connections for network heavy applications and file transfers.

What wireless performance can I expect from this router?
Three external antennas supply your home or office with 600Mbps 2.4GHz and 1300Mbps 5GHz frequencies. AiRadar technology from ASUS provides any devices connected to the router a directed WI-FI signal. This gives you a stable wireless connection that can support web access and media streaming to multiple portable devices. WPS encryption allows simple pairing of wireless devices to the router at the push of a button. Guest wireless access can be configured to allow your visitors to use the Internet, but keeping them separate from your main network or any other connected devices.

What wired connections can I expect from this router?
WAN (RJ45) ports allow you to attach this router to a modem or extend your network form a pre-existing network. Four gigabit Ethernet ports give you access to a fast and reliable wired connection, that can support large uninterrupted file transfers or gaming across your network. Included with the router is a USB 2.0 port for printer sharing or USB 3.0 port for network storage, enabling you to store and stream media across your network. Additionally you are able to attach a USB 3G or 4G dongle and share its internet connection, keeping you connected to the internet during any network outages.

Can I use this router to manage my network?
ASUSWRT provides you with a graphical user interface, which allows you to view a map of your network via a web based program. This allows you to view ASUSWRT on portable devices, allocate network bandwidth and create profiles to prevent users from visiting listed websites, keeping your family or office network safe from potentially malicious content.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic replacement! I bought this router as a replacement to my Virgin Media one, which continuously dropped connection on me and my family. This Asus does the job fantastically! The setup was easy and the available app gives loads of useful information. It does a lot my Virgin router didn't do, like USB connectivity (but this is a bit complicated to get working).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing performance, no more WiFi dead spots I've tried numerous WiFi routers over the years but none have provided acceptable WiFi coverage until I stumbled across the ASUS RT-AC68U I can now enjoy 200Mb broadband over WiFi using my original Virgin Media Superhub 11 cable router (in modem mode) with the ASUS RT-AC68U router, very pleased

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best home router This is an amazing router with so many options to configure the device. Use the ASUSWRT-Merlin firmware to improve upon the default firmware. You will not be disappointed with this if you purchase. Especially as maplins are selling it cheaper than anyone else.

CAn this be used with Sky fibre?

Asked by: Lil DeE
You can if you use it in bridge mode if you Ethernet or power line the two together, if not using sky Q turn off the Wi-fi on the sky hub and use the Wi-fi from this router.  If using q then you need to leave the Wi-fi on and just connect to this separately.  Q will need to be on to talk to any mini boxes that you have.

This is a router only. It is not suitable for ADSL connections unless you intend to piggyback if off your existing ADSL modem.

What is the hardware revision of this router (it's written on the white label on the box)? It will be either A1, A2, B1, B2 or C1.

Asked by: Colin
I went to my local shop and answered my own question. ;) They had 2 routers, one manufactured in 2015 and the other in 2016. Both were version A2. That's disappointing as B1 and C1 have faster processors.
