What components can I test with this analyser?
This analyser is capable of testing a multitude of different components. These include: transistors (including Darlingtons), MOSFETs, JFETs, IGBTs (insulated gate bipolar transistors), diodes, LEDs, Zener diodes, voltage regulators, triacs and thyristors.

What is the advantage of plugging the DCA75 in to a computer?
By plugging the DCA75 into a computer there are a range of low current curve tracing functions available with various graph types. This allows you to test the following:
Bipolar transistor output characteristics, IC vs VCE.
Bipolar transistor gain characteristics, hFE vs VCE.
Bipolar transistor gain characteristics, hFE vs IC.
MOSFET and IGBT output function, ID vs VDS.
MOSFET and IGBT transfer function, ID vs VGS.
JFET output function, ID vs VDS.
JFET transfer function, ID vs VGS.
Voltage regulator, VOUT vs VIN.
Voltage regulator, IQ vs VIN.
PN junction I/V curves, forward and reverse options (for Zener diodes).

What is the curve tracing used for?
Curve tracing is used to analyse the characteristic of discrete semiconductor devices such as diodes, transistors and thyristors. The DCA75 applies a varying voltage to two terminals of the component and measures the amount of current that the test item permits to flow at each voltage. This is then shown on your PC screen as a curved graph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have ! I bought one of these a few weeks ago, great piece of kit, how did I ever get by without one? Connection to PC is a great idea, can then display more data & then also powered by the PC. Seems to test all types of Transisters, diodes, SCR's, & Voltage Regulators.
