About this product

Overview

Product overview

• Meter capable of measuring capacitance and equivalent series resistance (ESR)
• Measure ESR from 0Ω to 40Ω
• Measure capacitance from 1µF to 22,000µF
• Requires one 23A battery (included)
• Measures just 103mm x 70mm x 20mm

What is an ESR meter?
An ESR meter is a two-terminal electronic measuring instrument for measuring the equivalent series resistance (ESR) of real capacitors without the need to disconnect the capacitor from the circuit it is connected to.

What makes this version different from the ESR60?
The ESR70 comes with a wider ESR measurement range. This model measures from 0Ω up to 40Ω whereas the ESR60 only measures to 20Ω.

How easy is this meter to use?
The ESR70 is very easy to use – it will automatically detect when the test clips are applied to a capacitor and start its analysis. A unique feature of this meter is the ability to detect if the capacitor is charged. If the capacitor is charged then the ESR70 will discharge the capacitor using a constant power algorithm designed to prevent nasty discharge currents.

Can this measure small caps like 103 and 104 ceramic caps.

Asked by: Warren
You may struggle to get the clips onto really small caps, but if you are able to the device would be able to read them.
