Rated 3 out of 5 by from A reasonable starting point: I etched my first PCB with this kit, and haven't looked back. However... The developer and etcher in this kit aren't the best fluids to work with, and are less reliable than other fluids. Maplins standard developer (sodium hydroxide free) and etcher (ferric chloride) give more reliable results over what's in this kit. Developing with what's in this kit is time critical - a few seconds wrong and you've ruined the board. Whereas AP01B is very forgiving. If you start with this kit, don't be put off by failures, and look forward to better results when you use more reliable solutions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great kit to get you started, instructions are a little sketchy though. With better instructions this would be an awesome starting point. That said I had excellent results with the products provided

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great kit to get you started in your own pcb manufacturing. It provided me with enough supplies to make about 2 circuits. I must emphasise that as with anything it takes practice to get it right and I have found YouTube videos a great help in demonstrating how to get great results, as mentioned before the instructions are quite bad. I would recommend buying a few more pre sensitised boards as well just in case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could do with an etch resist pen in the kit to get you going Without an etch resist pen in the kit I would hardly call this a beginner's kit as you then have to start looking all over the place for a suitable one or other technique.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not bad, not great value. This seems like a good deal on paper but there were a few issues. First, most online hobbyist tutorials use different chemicals to develop and etch the PCB. I think it's good if you're a beginner to stick to the more mainstream way of doing things (at first anyway). I don't think the chemicals in this kit are a good choice. Second, the PCBs in the kit are all rather small. Only one has a photoresist coating on it, and the other three are plain copper, so you have to resort to other methods like toner transfer etc to use them. Again, this is a bit poor if you're a beginner - you're required to learn a second technique to use all the stuff in the kit. Then you don't need developer for these methods, so it feels a bit like the different parts of the kit aren't compatible with one another. The plastic tray is a bit too shallow. It's hard not to spill the solutions when you're agitating the board, and when you're trying to pour the solution into a bottle for storage. The tweezers are nice though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Contains 3 PCBs + 1 photo board and only the photo board matches the size specified. The rest are scrap pieces - small and with irregular shape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome it tells you how to make and design your boards, i highly recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pcb kit ideal kit for making pcb's who have NOT done before and who don't want to fork out on a lot of stuff then never use rest of it
