About this product

Overview

Product overview

• Belkin N300 USB Wireless Network Adapter
• Wireless N ready, also compatible with wireless G and B
• The External antenna also acts as a wireless range extender
• Perfect for areas of poor wireless signal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Due to the distance between my router and computer (wireless connection) my signal strength meter was, most of the time, only 2 bars out of 5, except when there was a football match on, when it went to 4 bars, as no-one was using up the available space in this area. Fitted this unit, very easily, and the signal strength meter now sits at the full 5 bars all the time. Connection is much more stable now. I found installing the system easy. 1) Run installation disk and follow instructions 2) Plug in adaptor when prompted and wait several minutes (about 5 minutes) 3) Once installed, restart computer, takes about 5 to 8 minutes to stabilise. 4) Clicked on the networks and connected the adaptor to my ISP using the unique code my server has. Job Done!

Can this be used as an Xbox 360 wireless n adapter?

Asked by: Ness
No, if you have the older non-WiFi enabled Xbox 360, you would need the official adapter which can be found here; http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/xbox-360-wireless-network-adapter-n77gy

This item is described as a range extended: does that mean it extends the WiFi single around it (by retransmitting in the same way as a signal booster) or that it is an effective receiver and will work well in areas with weak WiFi signal.

Asked by: Robert
This is both a reciever and transmitter that will boost the wi-fi signal it recieves
