What can I use these two-way radios for?
Keep in touch around the house and garden with Binatone Latitude 100 PMR radios. These PMR446 radios use the licence free 446MHz frequency band to communicate from unit to unit. With a range of up to 3km, these short range walkie-talkies are perfect for communicating without needing a call plan or licence. Backlit displays make the radios easy to use, day or night.

What range can I get from these PMR446 radios?
These PMR radios can reach a maximum range of 3km in open conditions. This range may be reduced by obstacles between the two radios. You can use the radios between your house and garden, or kids can enjoy communicating while learning about radio technology.

How many channels does this radio have?
Each unit has eight channels, so you should be able to find an available channel without interference. It is easy to change channels, and you can even secure your radio by using the included belt clip. With up to two hours of talk time and 87 hours of standby, this is a great PMR for keeping in touch with. When the batteries are flat, simply replace them with six AAA batteries - three per unit. You can use standard alkaline or Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries (batteries and rechargeable battery charger not included).

This two-way radio is compatible with PMR446 radios set to the same channels.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value but practical range much less than 3km We bought these radios so as to keep in touch when driving in two separate cars to SW France. This proved very effective for most purposes and we were pleased with our purchase. Battery life using Extra long life lithium AAs was impressive - good for around 8 hours of continuous use. The claim of a 3 km range however is well beyond anything we achieved; about 1 km was about the best we managed, and even that was with line of sight. On the plus side this meant that interference from other users' conversations was very low. If the limited range isn't a particular problem then I'd strongly recommend for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of walkie talkies These 8 channel walkie talkies are conveniently small, sturdy and look good. I bought them as toys for my children, so I did not test their maximum range, but they work perfectly fine in and around the house. The sound is loud and clear without distortion. All this for £20. I am absolutely happy with my purchase.

They are produced for use in the UK, whilst they will work anywhere in the world you should check that the frequency they use is not prohibited in the country you intend to use them in.

There is no charger for these units, they use normal cells, you can use rechargeable batteries if you wish but would need to remove them to recharge.

what age group do they cover ?

Asked by: Rozman
A child of 6 years old can use these pretty easily. But from a child (Safety Issue) view we would recommend adult supervision with these products at all times , as to be safe in regards to , just who are you talking too, as these do have many different frequencies .
