Product overview

• Keep in touch around the garden or campsite
• Keep in contact up to 5km away
• Eight-channel PMR units
• Battery powered radios - rechargeable battery pack included
• No licence required

What can I use these two way radios for?
Whether you need to communicate around the garden or on a camping trip, these radios are a great way to keep in touch. With no need for a call plan or a licence, the Binatone Latitude 150 PMR 446 radios represent an easy way to communicate. The walkie-talkies even come with a belt clip to secure them. These 8 channel PMR446 radios use the licence free 446 MHz frequency range with the two units. With a 5km range, these are good mid-range radios suitable for outdoor or indoor use.

What sort of range can I get?
These Binatone Latitude PMR radios can reach a maximum range of 5km under ideal conditions. The range will be reduced if they are used in built up areas or with obstacles between the two units. You can use these radios at campsites or in the garden.

How may channel does my radio have?
Hear every word with eight channels for communicating between units. The units are easy to use with channel and volume control buttons around the backlit display. A rechargeable battery pack is charged from the dual dock mains charger in the radio and can be replaced with six rechargeable AAA batteries (not included) if you prefer. Don’t worry about your battery level as the units have a low battery warning to let you know when they need charging. The batteries can last up to two hours talking time, or 87 hours on standby.

This two-way radio is compatible with PMR446 radios set to the same channels.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough, Basic Analogue PMR-446 Radio I bought a pair of these radio for the grandchildren. They are tough (they need to be!) and easy to use. The audio quality is good. They come with chargers and rechargeable batteries, which keeps the cost for using them down. They recharge in a few hours. They don't have CTCSS (so-called 'privacy mode'), but for a short-range device where channel congestion is rarely an issue, CTCSS is not really needed (IMHO). They have a claimed range of up to 5km, but, like most PMR446 radios, this is only ever likely to be achieved in ideal conditions such as from hill-top to hill-top with nothing in between. We got a range of over a mile in fairly open park land.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These are great little radios, I brought them so that my 6 year old daugher could have a bit more independence when we go camping!!! They are really easy to use and if it got lost then no-one would want it as it would just have an angry Mummy on the end rather than a mobile phone that is more 'nickable' Another great feature about thease is that you can put 'normal batteries' in them if you don't have a socket to charge the radios!!!! (great when your in a field!!!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great devices and certainly do what they say they will. For the price, you can't really go wrong. Distance does depend on conditions but again, for the price ... Only issue I had was the transmit button is a very weak point and if you press it too hard, it breaks. Maplin replaced no problem and I was happy to use the same product.
