What is the advantage of having a condenser microphone?
Condenser microphones are the most common type of microphones for recording audio. They are often used in recording studios as they have a greater ability to reproduce all of the audio of an instrument or voice. Using USB power, condenser microphones usually have a louder output but can be more sensitive to loud sounds.

What position does the condenser microphone pick up sound from?
This microphone has a cardioid polar pattern which means it is more sensitive to sounds at the front of the microphone and less sensitive at the back. The pickup is based in one direction which makes it effective for isolating unwanted sound as well as having a high resistance to feedback.

What would I use this microphone with?
This microphone is ideal for a wide range of applications such as music demos, interviews, podcasts, YouTube broadcasts and Skype conferences. The adaptive processing refines and smoothes audio in real time to improve recording quality, while the built-in studio-grade pop filter and shock mount reduce harsh plosives and disruptive rumblings and vibrations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a yeti beater I am far from being an expert in audio devices, but I just wanted a quality device that records vocals for YouTube. I was impressed by the Nessies looks but disappointed in the build quality, it feels plasticky and is lightweight. I lived the led light that flashes around the base when it is muted. The mute button itself is excellent as you just touch it lightly and it is muted, so no clicking noise on the recording etc. The bad point about the Nessie is that you have to be close to the mic to be heard where as the yeti records the full room if you set it to do so. The playback of the Nessie was a high quality and was clear but very very low unless you were right up to it during recording. I swapped this mic for the far superior yeti
