Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy little gadget at a good price Having an iPhone I find I run out of power mid-way through the day when on the move. I decided to do some shopping around and found the Brunton Torpedo quite highly recommended in Country Walking magazine. What I love about it is that it does the job of 2 things. First you plug it into your car's 12V socket to charge it however, whilst it's charging itself it can also charge up 2 other gadgets [like phones, GPS] through its double USB ports. When you have driven to your destination, unplug the Torpedo, chuck it in your bag and - as long as it's fully charged - you can use it to recharge your smart phone. Apparently it's capable of 2 smart phone charges but I've only ever used it for 1. Excellent product, highly recommended.

I have tried several power banks with my 9.7" tablet but I suspect that my tablet works off 12 v. because the mains charger for it has an output of 12 v. whereas most power banks only have a 5 or 6 v. output. When trying to re-charge (or even run) my tablet off a power bank the latter indicates that it is charging for just a few seconds then ..... nothing! No charge is received and the battery level on my tablet continues to fall rapidly, even though the power bank is still connected. Would your device have a 12 v output option?
