Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bit of kit, set up in 5 minutes I bought a TP-Link powerline from Maplins. Useless. Did work, then didn't work. Wouldn't clone. Very unclear set up instructions. Spent 3 hours trying to get it to work, including a call to TP-Link technical support (terrible English, couldn't help), and a call to Maplins technical support (very helpful, but we tried everything and still wouldn't work). Took it back. Got this instead. Worked out of the box, and I now have 2 paired extenders I can plug in anywhere, and devices switch seamlessly between them when I move around my flat. I'd give it 6 starts if I could.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Very good, appalling documentation! This is the 2 remote wifi version, there's also a single wifi version. It connects by supplied Cat5 cable to the router, hops the internet connection / signal onto the mains and emerges as a WiFi point wherever you plug in each of the two units. As mentioned elsewhere, taking the time to setup the 'new' wifi to the same name / password as your existing one makes life easy although the process can be picky! There's a utility available from BT that makes life a lot easier, its only available from the mobile site rather than the main one for some reason(?) The easiest (and cheapest) way of extending the number of nodes (maximum of 8) is to buy 2 of these! use the spare 'router to mains' connection as a spare. The signal strength meter app was giving me a stronger WiFi signal from these units than from the BT Infinity box a couple of feet away. Very, Very good buy but let down by the picky installation, poor documentation, and horrible compatibility issues with other items in the 'same' range. Get past the messy installation and its a solid, fast and so far reliable item. Would certainly recommend it although not to impatient types! :-)

I have four different ring main sockets sets (upstairs :down stairs:garage: outhouse,) in my home. Does this work through the different rings or is it only compatible with one ring main.

Asked by: joeyspot
These would require to be on the same ring mains circuit.

I need two extenders 1) connect TV box via ethernet cable to an extender and 2) get wifi coverage in another part of the house. I need to maximise speed to get broadband TV channels. Is this the best product? I currently have a 7 tear old TP Link extender

Asked by: Steve
This would be suitable for your use

is it possible to buy additional mini-hotspots, in order to build additional hotspots around the home

Asked by: gp1968
Sorry this range of products is mostly discontinued for us, you may still find a few of the twin kits dotted around our stores.

does this mean you have 3 separate booster points or just two with the third being the signal giver ?

Asked by: Dave234
That's correct. One is the transmitter while the other 2 receive and re-broadcast the WiFi signal.

Does the device that connects to the router have one or two Ethernet ports? I am already using all ports on my router so need to make sure that the "sender" has two.

Asked by: Simo
No, this sender would only have 1 port.
