Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great calculator I got this calculator at the beginning of my first year of a-levels as we were recommended to get one. The actual calculator recommended was not this one, but rather the 9750. I decided to get this one instead as it has a text book display which makes matrices etc. easier to do on the calculator. I found this item to be perhaps useful in the first year - but it really came to its full usefulness in a2 further maths. If you are after a calculator that is brilliantly simple - but can still do everything - then this is not the calculator to get. If you are in this situation - I would recommend the Casio fx-991ES PLUS. This calculator does almost everything that this one does - but at a seventh of the price! That calculator evaluates integrals and derivatives; and multiplies matrices just the same as the calculator for sale here (albeit a little slower). If, on the other hand, you want a versatile calculator with a little more speed and a better display, this is the one to get. When you know how to use it - it becomes very easy and powerful and its ability to actually sketch graphs has its uses in a-levels. In conclusion, this is a great calculator. It is more powerful that any of Casio's scientific calculator range, but at the same time is 7 times as expensive as another calculator which is very nearly as powerful, and I would say better. If on the other hand, your heart is set on a graphical calculator, I cannot recommend another higher, as this model outperformed all of the other models that my peers purchased that are permitable in exams.
