• Perfect for terrestrial viewing - flips your image so it’s right side up
• Accepts 32mm (1.25 inch) eyepieces and will fit into 32mm focusers and diagonals
• 45 degree prism diagonal, comfortable for daytime observancesHow does this work?
Most astronomical telescopes can be used during the day for terrestrial viewing such as watching birds, wildlife or ships. Some astronomical refractors or Catadioptric telescopes invert the image so it is upside down and left and right are flipped. This isn’t an issue if you are looking at a nebular but noticeable if you’re trying to follow a bird. The Celestron 45 degree Diagonal Erect Image will correct the image so objects are upright and left/right correct.
How easy is it to assemble?
Simply remove your standard diagonal from your telescope’s focuser and replace it with this diagonal erect image and use your eyepiece as usual. At 45 degrees the diagonal is comfortable to use when the telescope is in a more horizontal position for terrestrial viewing. The diagonal will fit into 32mm (1.25 inch) finders and visual backs and will accept standard 32mm eyepieces.
Please note that using the diagonal with a Newtonian reflector will not result in images that are right side up and left to right correct. This is because the design of the telescope will produce images rotationally off in orientation. Newtonian reflectors can still be used as long as you compensate for objects orientated in unrealistic positions.
