What can I see with this telescope?
Get ready for the view of a lifetime with this Celestron special edition Cometron FirstScope. This compact desktop telescope is perfect for beginners looking to observe comets, stars and capture images of the moon. The telescope comes with two eyepieces, which offer 15 times and 30 times magnification. This telescope is lightweight so you can easily move it around and get the perfect view. Whether you’re starting a new hobby or just want to broaden your horizons, this FirstScope for you.

Why choose a reflector telescope?
Reflector telescopes have several advantages. They are open at one end and use mirrors to collect and focus the light for the image. Typically, reflector telescopes have larger apertures than refractors and can see further and fainter objects with a wider apparent field of view. Reflector telescope can be made smaller for the same magnification and don’t suffer from chromatic aberration (colours appearing around an image) as some refractors can. The image in the telescope eyepiece will appear upside-down – but this is normal for a telescope set up for astronomical viewing.

How easy is it to assemble?
This Celestron FirstScope is simple and easy to assemble. Just attach the finderscope, insert the eyepiece and you’re ready to stargaze. The telescope can be placed on a desktop or any flat surface and with its Dobsonian style mount, it can rotate on its base as well as up and down to easily point your telescope at anything you find. The 114 LCM comes with The Sky X – First Light Edition astronomy software with a 10,000 object database, printable sky maps and 75 enhanced images.
