What can I use this microscope for?
Discover a new world with this digital microscope. Stream and display amazing pictures directly from the microscope to your computer or laptop screen. When you need a bit more stability, or want to have both hands free, you can use the supplied metal stand and when you need flexibility or are looking in hard to access places - you can use the microscope as a hand held unit. Whether you’re a newcomer or a dab hand, this microscope is the perfect blend of easy use and great quality images for anyone ages 13 and over.

What can I see with my digital microscope?
Place the microscope directly over or on the sample to get the highest possible 40x magnification and slowly pull it away, adjusting the focus as you go, to get back to 10x. If you want to use a higher power magnification, you can move the focus knob on the body of the microscope almost all the way to the right for 150x magnification. For higher powers, you will need a larger 19"+ monitor. Use the button at the end of the microscope to send 2MP stills and VGA quality video. Using interpolation, you can even increase the quality of the images to up to 5MP. Additionally, you can illuminate your discoveries with the six white LEDs built into the microscope.

How does my microscope power?
The microscope gets all of its power from the same USB socket that it uses to stream images. No batteries are required. This microscope has plug and play connectivity on Windows XP or later and Mac OS 10.4.9 and later. You will need imaging software to view the microscope, it comes with the Digital Microscope Suite software but you can also use other image/photo capture software to view and record with.

Is it possible to take images in real time via the software instead of by the button at the top of the barrel of the item? I'm concerned that using this button will move the whole item even slightly and cause blurred images through camera shake.

Asked by: Dominic
The software allow images to be captured via the program too.

How far away from the object is it possible to place the microscope to achieve 10X magnification? What's the maximum distance away from the object the microscope can be placed?

Asked by: Dominic
This is designed to be placed on top of or in close proximity to the object being magnified. As such it may not focus correctly at distances greater than a few centimeters.
