Simple WiFi connectivity

As an alternative, you can also use it to show footage to the police or to your insurance company for evidence to any claims.

Reliable and easy to use

Having a dash cam installed in your vehicle is essential, as it offers a backup for evidence if an accident occurs. This dash cam comes with a windscreen mount and MicroSD, so it's ready to use straight out of the box. It also includes a USB cigarette lighter adapter and USB charging cable, which charges and continuously powers the CDR900, so you will never have to worry about running out of battery.

High-quality Super HD footage
This CDR900 Dash Cam will help reduce insurance quotes and provide hard evidence when making a claim. It is simple to use and has a clear display and captures 1296p super HD or 1080p full HD video footage with its extra wide 160-degree viewing angle, which means every detail will be recorded and nothing will be missed.

Instant playback and HDMI connectivity
Instant replay is available on the two-inch LCD screen, which lets you play your recordings back straight away. A mini HDMI slot is located on the side of the dash cam so you can connect directly to your HDTV or computer via a HDMI cable (not included) and watch your HD footage of the big screen. If you wish to view and save your recordings onto your PC or laptop, simply plug the 8GB microSD card into your memory card slot. Please note that using a microSD card adapter (not included) will be necessary for this. This will also allow you to send evidence to your insurance company.

Automatic loop recording
The Cobra CDR900 Dash Cam records directly onto the 8GB microSD card, which comes included. Install the memory card into the microSD slot on the unit. This dash cam can support microSD cards up to 64GB to record up to four-and-a-half hours of footage. With the continuous loop recording feature, you can record endlessly onto your microSD card and never need to manually erase recordings from the dash cam. The built-in G-sensor picks up and records any sudden change of course or impact and saves any event onto the memory card when triggered by a knock or bump to your vehicle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent value... I was initially attracted by it's size so I bought it about a month ago when on offer and used it temporarily on my B-Max. Video is quite good during the day but the wifi is very patchy, nearly always refuses to link with the software on my 'phone - have to connect to my PC with the supplied cable to review the footage. The main complaint is the visibility of the item when fitted on the screen. Due to lots of unnecessary chrome detailing to the front it is immediately and obviously visible. Not a problem on long trips but having to remove it for safety each time when parking on a short shopping trip is annoying. A nice matt black/grey to blend in with the rest of the dashboard plastic would make it a lot less conspicuous. I have yet to find a good place to mount it as the windscreen is quite cluttered. A vertical mount from the dash would work well but there appears to be no way in the camera software of inverting the recorded video if the camera is used in this position... Emailed Cobra with the query - no reply...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Features leave a lot to be desired I bought this a week ago as i wanted Action Cam features in order to record long files rather than DashCam segments. The SD card is partitioned for DashCam and ActionCam use and the space for each defined by the user in the DriveHD Smartphone app. I also liked the ability to connect to "Cloud". The Maplin assistant said that i and i quote, "can add OneDrive or DropBox by tapping the Add Cloud option in the app" - NOT SO. Not only that but the support people at Maplin have been a lot less than helpful trying to sort things out. In addition the image is so "wide" that the insides of the windscreen A Pillars and dashboard are visible. The image quality is also poor and a car number plate cannot be read beyond half a car's distance in front and not at all in the side lanes. The audio is also very poor and more reminiscent to a shortwave radio station from the 1980's. On the basis of being told i can connect to the Cloud i will be returning this for a refund and going back to my two NextBase 312GW.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and Use i have been using this camera for just over a week, and i have found it has been working really well. for me the hardest part of the setup was running the cable around the edge of the window and to the power socket. once you have connected the power the setup is really easy, there are 2 buttons on the camera, the power/menu button and the record button, you press the menu button to access the menu and move to the next option and you press the record button to confirm a selection. for the more advanced options you download the Drive HD app on your smartphone and connect to the camera through wifi. the screen is quite small but it is big enough to see all of the options during setup and you shouldn't be looking at the screen while driving anyway. obviously i didn't want to crash my car to test the G-sensor so to test this i just gave the camera a quick tap when i was stationary, this was enough to turn on the screen and activate the emergency record mode, this created a file that would not be overwritten when the SD card was filled up. when you connect the camera to a PC it is recognised as an external drive, this makes it easy to find the file that you are after and play it back, when you are playing back through a PC the picture quality is quite good and you can read the number plate from the car in from a couple of metres away Pros: it is easy to set up and use, it is small enough not to obscure your view while driving, Cons: there is no GPS sensor so it ill not record your location or how fast you are travelling the power cable is a little short, it was long enough for me to run it where i wanted it and it left me a couple of inches of slack, however if i wanted to run the cable around the back of the foot well or if i had a bigger car i do not think it would have been long enough,

I purchased the CDR900 but now need to know if the view can be rotated, as of necessity I need to mount this on the dashboard, with the mount at the base of the unit and not at the top as in a window mount.
