Build your own rear wheel drive capable of amazing 360 degree turns in this Connex 38811N kit. The rear motor and wheels push the entire kit around while the small front wheel decides the direction of travel. The gearbox, as well as providing the rotation to get the wheels moving, creates a back and forward motion that sets off a non-electrical beeper as it’s running.
What does this teach?
Vehicles such as dragsters, trikes and many road cars use rear wheel drive. This means the power comes from the back wheels’ traction on the road and the steering comes from the front wheel or wheels. This is a fun challenge for those new to electronics with multiple electronic and mechanical pieces. With 22 pieces in total this kit is as fun to build as it is to play with. Learn the basics of electronic circuits as well as gears, motors and shafts.
Mix and match with Connex
Be creative with your kit by mixing components with other Connex kits (take care to match power requirements). No soldering is required with this kit, all the components can be connected using the supplied wires fitting into the springs on the board. No need to worry about losing pieces, the kit comes in a box that doubles as a base to assemble the kit on and a storage box when you tidy it away. This kit requires two AA batteries (sold separately Order Code <L43AL>).
