Will this be the right cooler for me?
If your stock CPU cooler just isn’t providing you with the much needed low temperatures for you to overclock, take a look at this Hyper 212 Evo. Its pre-installed fan spin up to a maximum 1600RPM, supplying you with 31dBA of noise and 1.7mm/H2O of static pressure. The fan moves 66.3 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air, keeping the heat pipes cool and therefore your CPU too.

There are four direct contact heat pipes and with the patented CDC technology you get a smooth surface for excellent heat dissipation. The fan is affixed to the heatsink via fan brackets that allow you to quickly snap them in place. Extra fan brackets are supplied so you can add another fan onto this CPU cooler for a push-pull configuration, increasing cooling performance.

Please note that this CPU cooler is quite tall at 159mm, so please check your computer case dimensions before purchasing

How do I change the fan speed?
The fan supports pulse width modulation (PWM), which provides you with increased speed control, so you can adjust the speed to as low as 600RPM, from 1600RPM. This reduces the amount of noise emitted to a near inaudible 9dBA, but also lowers the airflow produced to 24.9CFM. If this is too low, you can always change the RPM to find the right balance between noise and performance that suits you.

What is this compatible with?
Supplied with numerous fixings, such as stand-offs, thermal paste, back plate and screws, this CPU cooler is compatible with most motherboards. It is compatible with both Intel and AMD sockets, such as Intel LGA 115x (1156, 1155, 1151, 1150) and AMD AM3+, FM2+.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant CPU Cooler This Hyper 212 Evo Cooler is a brilliant piece of kit. It's very nicely made and good quality. Installed it on a Gigabyte M68M-S2P motherboard with an AMD Phenom II X4 940 CPU and it lopped 20 deg C off the CPU temperature running flat out using test software called HeavyLoad. This allowed me some overclocking with safety. Only thing to watch is the size. Poked itself right through the side panel on my case so some modifications were needed. Case needs to be 180mm wide at the very minimum. Also, make sure there's enough room around the CPU slot as this is quite a beast. Some installation videos are available on YouTube.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than the tinny weeny AMD stock one Hi Everbody. Got this as I updated my case (Zalman Z3 plus white) and GFX card (Sapphire R9 290x). Thought I'd need a bit more uummphh to rid the excess heat over the tiny AMD offering that came with my 7850k as the GFX card is massively massive and sits directly below the CPU now. Seems to be working a treat. Used Antec fomula 7 instead of the supplied TIM. Done a few tests to see how it performs (benchmarking, BF4ing, etc) and it's all good. Hasn't really changed the temps, just keeps them where they should be. PS Maplin are great, held this for 3days for me as I couldn't get to the shop due to work, so err, Thanks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice. Keeps my i5-4670 @3.85 at full load @ 45oC (tested with Prime95 for 8h). However I suggest putting 2 fans at it. Quite big, making it impossible for me to use all my 4 RAM slots and blocking a single fan placement (Corsair 300R carbide case, side window's fan place).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased When my video card packed up recently I installed a new GTX960 (which works fine) but immediately afterwards my CPU temps went through the roof (like 91C with no load). I assumed it was a software or BIOS problem caused by the new video card, but eventually worked out it was my closed circuit liquid cooler. Either age or tipping it sideways caused an airlock and now its totally useless. I decided to go for an air cooler, and the Cooler Master 212 was affordable. Fitting was easy - I used the CoolerMaster combination kit of thermal paste and a cleaner wipe, which took off the old paste easily. Now my CPU idles at around 32C and under full load up to no higher than 52C. Brilliant!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cooler Great cooler. I run an AMD FX6300 oc'd from 3.5ghz to 4.3ghz and this cooler manages to keep it at around 10 degrees at idle and 32 degrees under gaming load. Thats pretty good! Its also very quiet due to it's large fan. Its a bit of a mission to install it though, you will have to remove your motherboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing performance on a FX 8350 Just got this thing and after a little fiddling with the install I got it all set up. I am getting temperatures of about 10 degrees lower the the stock cooler with around 45 degrees being top end in games very happy. also pretty quite, no jet engine here
