How much air does this fan move and is it loud?
This Corsair AF120 performance edition fan is capable of moving high amounts of air around your case. It spins at 1650 RPM which produces fantastic airflow of 63.47CFM throughout your case, keeping it well cooled. Additionally, rubberised corners give you sound damping properties when standard screws are used, with this generating 21dBA of noise for quiet operating.

How do I change the fan speed?
Included with this fan is a voltage step-down adapter which lowers and fixes the voltage of the fan from 12V to 7V. Reducing the voltage of the fan like this causes the fan to spin more slowly and produce less noise.

Where should I place these fans?
This fan performs best when they are affixed in unrestricted spaces. Designed with high airflow generation in mind, this fan is capable of moving 63.47CFM of air. You could place them at the rear or the top of your PC case as exhaust fans for your rig’s motherboard, CPU, graphics card and other components that fill your case with heat. Alternatively, you can fix them to your side panel or bottom intake fan mounting positions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very low noise I bought this fan because the bearings started to fail in one of my case fans. My CPU cooler when cool and running slow is louder than this fan running flat out with no speed limiter on. It shifts a lot of air for the noise it makes. Comes with different colour bands that you can attach. I haven't got any on because the fan is out of sight but its nice to have the option. Overall a good low noise fan that shifts plenty of air.

Overview states: "Incl with fan is a voltage step-down adapter which lowers voltage of fan from 12V to 7V." I cannot find any images of this adapter on the Maplin or Corsair web-sites. Where does it go? Could it be made switchable so that fan is 2speed?

Asked by: Pete S
It is connected in line but is not switchable.
