What can I run from this power supply?
This 500W power supply will be able to power your mid to high-end computer system without an issue. It is extremely efficient and runs very quietly thanks to its custom-designed fan and optimised blade profile, so you won’t have energy wasted and you’ll get a quiet system too. How quiet and efficient is this power supply?
This Corsair power supply comes with an 80 PLUS bronze efficiency rating, which means that the power supply must be at least 80% energy efficient at various loads. The CX500M is approximately 85% efficient, which means that it wastes roughly 15% of electrical energy as heat. The large diameter, thermally controlled fan makes this power supply quieter at lower loads, while the large diameter reduces noise when you're pushing your system hard. Under a full load this power supply produces 32dBA of noise, giving you a whisper quiet computing experience.

How does the semi-modular design benefit me?
The semi-modular design of this power supply comes supplied with only the necessary cables attached. Rated 2 out of 5 by from power surges when I first had this with a GTX 650, Asus Z-87 pro, intel i7 4770s turbo 3.9ghz, 5 system fans, wd green 2tb hdd, Samsung 24x S-ATA DVD RW, 8GB DDr3 1600mhz integral RAM; it ran smoothly, when I upgraded to a GTX 750, it still ran like mice and cheese ( smooth ) ( the ASUS GTX 750 OC should have less power consumption cos it takes all the power from the motherboard with no plugs ) after 3 weeks after upgrading, the PSU has had power surges, causing my game to crash and my PC to reset, im reporting this to Corsair customer support, I haven't even had it for a year ( only since December ) ;(

This is an industry standard ATX power supply, as long as your unit will accept an industry standard ATX power supply it will fit. If you are unsure then please check with your manufacturer.

I am looking to get a&nbsp;GeForce GTX750 TI for my pc, but, my current power supply is standard and does not have the extra plug needed for the card. will this power supply have the lead needed and replace the old power supply okay? PC is an ADVENT DT2304

Would this be a suitable replacement for the DELL 8300 i5 range? it mentions modular cabling but there are no pictures, i need a 4 pin power to motherboard in addition to the standard 24 pin and the usual SATA power leads for drives. The current (failed) Dell power supply is rated at 460w. Bob
