I need to replace a similar fan (not used in a PC) with a 12v dc two wire unit (red &a black).  Having bought a Maplin replacement it has three wires. Is this going to suit (which two of the red, yellow, black) should I use?

Asked by: Colin
Sorry but Maplin do not advise on the modification or redesign of units I am afraid (as this would affect your product warranty).

is there a fan similar to this that I can power via a nine volt battery

Asked by: wolfie61
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.
