Is this powerline kit right for me?
This powerline kit contains everything that you will need in the box. The kit is simple to use – its plug and play feature means you can quickly plug in the powerline adapters, connecting one to your router and the other to your networked device, and setup is complete. These powerline plugs will give you a transfer speed of up to 500Mbps between them. The twin network ports on each plug will allow you to connect your laptop, desktop PC, games console, smart TV, networked hard drive or other networked device directly to your internet connection in only a few simple steps.

How could I use this powerline kit?
This powerline kit is designed for one plug to connect directly to your network router while the other is connected to a networked device. Compatible network devices include laptops, PCs, gaming consoles, smart TVs, network hard drives, media players and CCTV kits. The kit allows that device to connect directly to the internet without use of long network cables. Additional receivers, including receivers that give a wireless signal, are sold separately and can connect additional devices to your router. For the best results, choose a powerline receiver capable of sending up to 500Mbps.

How does powerline work?
Powerline technology transfers data using the electrical wiring of the household. A single powerline plug is connected directly to a router and plugged into a mains socket. This plug then communicates with all of the other plugs on to the same electricity supply. This kit comes with a single powerline plug that connects to a router, and another plug that will connect to your networked device and allow it to communicate to your router over the mains. The powerline adapters will communicate with each other when connected directly to mains sockets on the same fuse board. These powerline adapters are backwards compatible, however you will only achieve the speeds of the master unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally simple solution to terrible inbuilt TV WiFi Have had *nothing* but trouble with Samsung Smart (hah!) TV bough in December. Less than 10m from the fibre WiFi hub, connection keeps dropping out. Even had an engineer out to change the TV's WiFi module. 5 min into iPlayer - no internet. Gave up on Samsung (good products overall but the *worst* tech sup ever), talked to guy in Maplin who said, "in the end, the only bullet-proof way of a stable connection is a cable". Recommended this over WiFi booster as that might still fail if the WiFi module/setup of TV is iffy still; also so we wouldn't have cables trailing across new floor & walls. Plugs in, 1 minute later, stable internet connection. Bril, many thanks Maplin on Gt Western Rd!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to use. It really is, as easy as 1,2,3 Go, Go, Go. Had a set of these running now for three weeks with no problems. Running my new Swann CCTV system through these & thought I would have nothing but problems. Well. Proved me wrong. Thanks to these my cameras are all on line. I'am able to view from all six clearly & without any delay from Cyprus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The pair were added to the dLAN system to a sony Blu-ray player with internet access. The sony wireless was "useless" but these did the trick. The plus was they were a prize for the devolo quarterly draw and that can't be bad......

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functions flawlessly When PlusNet gave me a YouView box I found this had to be connected directly to the router, thus taking my only ethernet point near the TV. I bought this kit to allow me to connect all the other devices again. It has worked so flawlessly that I never even notice its presence: it has never needed rebooting, resetting or any other type of fiddling. What more can you ask?

I currently have a network with three Devolo adapters, one is connected to the router and the other two provide wifi hotspots. Can I use these adapters to provide 4 wired Ethernet ports? (ie, will they successfully pair with the existing adapter?)

Asked by: Alan
These should connect in with existing Devolo products, however, depending on the speed of your existing plugs, the transfer speed may be capped at that of the lowest adapter. For example, if you existing plugs are AV200, these AV500 plugs would only operate at 200mbps to match the slower units.

I have this set working as a WiFi extende, but wish to use the remote plug as an ethernet connection to my Samsung TV. It does not recognise the connection. The instruction book is a bit 'light'. Are there any more comprehensive instructions?

Asked by: Dave
This is a wired only connectivity kit, it does not have any Wi-Fi
