Is this powerline kit right for me?
This kit will give you a transfer speed of up to 500Mbps between the two plugs and includes everything you will need in the box. This powerline kit is simple to use – its plug and play feature means that you can quickly plug in the powerline adapters, connecting one to your router and the other to your networked device, and setup is complete. The included network socket will allow you to connect your laptop, desktop PC, games console, smart TV, networked hard drive or other networked device directly to your internet without any additional equipment.

How does the built-in Wi-Fi work?
The built-in wireless hotspot outputs a B, G and N signal – which gives your wireless devices speeds of up to 500Mbps, depending on signal strength and obstacles such as walls. This will give you an improved transfer speed over Wi-Fi and improve your online experience.

How could I use this powerline kit?
This powerline kit is designed for one plug to connect directly to your network router while the other is connected to a networked device. Compatible network devices include laptops, PCs, gaming consoles, smart TVs, network hard drives, media players and CCTV kits. It allows that device to connect directly to the internet without using long network cables. Additional receivers, including receivers that give a wireless signal, are sold separately and can connect additional devices to your router. For the best results, choose a powerline receiver capable of sending up to 500Mbps.

How does powerline work?
Powerline technology transfers data using the electrical wiring of the household. A single powerline plug is connected directly to a router and plugged into a mains socket. This plug then communicates with all of the other plugs on to the same electricity supply. This kit comes with a single powerline plug that connects to a router, and another plug that will connect to your networked device and allow it to communicate to your router over the mains. The powerline adapters will communicate with each other when connected directly to mains sockets on the same fuse board.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Perfect This was set up within a few minutes of opening the box. The accompanying software lets you make security changes, but is not an necessity. Our Community Group was struggling with reliable wireless networking; this little piece of magic has solved all our problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I had tried extending the wifi from the house to the shed at the bottom of my garden using numerous products without any success. Installation was easy but noted that my broadband dropped out occasionally with the devices connected. Would recommend using the software included as I found that the signal was being picked up from 2 devices from someone down my street that are also using Devolo products. In the software I just deleted their 2 devices and now it works very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great kit. Easy to install Thanks to some helpful advice from a knowledgable member of the Maplin staff, I chose this particular Devolo kit to improve and extend the wi-fi signal from my Virgin Superhub. Getting it up and running was very easy and the improvement has been amazing. Well worth doing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great device! I was looking for a wireless wifi extender when I was introduced to this power line device. It cost a bit more than conventional wireless extenders but once I got it up and running I was so happy to have got it. Set up was difficult, until I bothered to read the instructions, after which it was up and running perfectly in two minutes. It's reliable, net and far superior to ordinary extenders which transmit via radio waves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good wi-fi amplifier It does just what it says. Just plug it in and it works. I am using it in wi-fi clone mode and can now get first class wi-fi throughout my long narrow split level bungalow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from chay jordan Bought one today, easy to set up, but did not improve the one star I already have on my connection, so I would only give it one star, it's going back tomorrow.
