I am thinking of buying a blue ray dvd player to add to my home cinema. the home cinema is of course 5.1 channels but the blue ray player does not have 5.1 analogue output. if i play dvds in the blue ray and connect it with optical cable to the home cinema, will it split the audio properly through my five speakers?
Asked by: steve
Yes, this will give the 5.1 sound.

I want to channel my tv sound through my HiFi. Standard Aux connection did not work. Both items have a digital audio connection. Can i use an optical cable between the two?
Asked by: Sanj Luthra
Aslong as the TV is output and the Hifi is input, then yes.
