Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Good, Durable Switch I bought this to go with the Missile Style Toggle Switch Cover (Code: N42AT) and it works perfectly. However, to fit it in the cover, the metal washer with the ON and OFF labels has to be removed, but I didn't find this an issue. This product seems durable and has a satisfying click when operated. I'm not an expert, but this product was perfect for what I needed. Will buy again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless DPDT switch Bought this as a replacement "Radio / Phono" switch in an old US radio. Using a low Ohm meter I measured resistances before using. Got 7, 13 and many more including open circuit. Should take it back but can I be bothered to explain this to the non-techie store staff?

Is this DPDT switch 'make-before-break' (connection to one throw is established before connection to the other throw is broken so open circuit never happens) or is is 'break-before-make' (connection to one throw is broken before connecting to the other)?

Asked by: Andyroid
This is a break-before-make switch

Is this a make -before-break or a break-before-make switch?

Asked by: Andyroid
By it's very definition as an "on/off toggle switch" it is both ... In the "Off" position the circuit would be broken and you would switch it to the "On" position to make the circuit. Vice Versa in the "On" position the circuit is made and switching to the "Off" position will break the circuit.
