Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Switch I wanted a DPDT mains switch that was reasonably chunky, easy to install and solder to. This fits the bill perfectly for me and I would recommend it, but it's not suitable for an application that requires a miniature switch.

Could you please clarify if this switch would be suitable for switching between two separate batteries mounted on an electric ebike, rated 24v at 20A?  Many thanks

do you do this switch in a "Momentary" type. IE: it does not latch. Like a push button. When you take your finder off the switch it returns to the OFF state?

Asked by: Paul
The following item should be suitable for your needs, same power rating but in a momentary type; http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/everel-16a-rocker-switch-momentary-on-off-dpst-black-n81jz

What do you mean by 'change over'? How does this differ from a simple DPDT switch?
Asked by: Alan
A changeover switch is used for taking 2 inputs to one output for example, if you were powering a device lets say a TV from the mains and wanted a fail safe in case there was a power cut you could take a battery and an inverter through a changeover switch so when there is a power cut you can flick the switch and battery power the TV, when the power comes back on flick the switch again and you are back on the mains.

Do you do a switch like this that is spring loaded. So when you let go it switches off. Thanks.
