Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute rubbish The minute you try to solder a wire to the terminals, the plastic casing starts to melt and the terminals become mis-aligned rendering the switch useless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from U/s after soldering Similar problem to other review - by the time I'd finished soldering the connections something inside must have melted because the switch is now useless, the button just flopping from side to side with no detent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good For What They Are. Ignore the previous review on these, if you use the right connector they work brilliantly, plastic clips are a bit brittle but that's not a big whoop, they do their job as expected.

There are no markings on the terminals, but it appears that the two 'silver' terminals are the switch.  The 'gold' terminal is presumably the indicator lamp. Which terminal is 'in' and which 'out'?  Is the indicator 250v ac?

Asked by: Aardvark
Nobody answered, so I took it apart to find out. Outer 'silver' is live, middle 'silver' is load, 'gold' is neutral for the light. It contains a mains neon bulb - not an LED as in another question.  This means that the switch will work for lower voltages but the light will not. My surge protection board is working again with the new switch.

(a) Do these switches contain an inbuilt 'dropping' resistor? Also (b) am I correct in assuming that the correct wiring for these is positive through the two identical terminals. and negative through the third terminal?

Asked by: Andy
They do not include a dropping resistor, a separate feed for the LED is required, you are correct about the wiring.
