2K Super HD video quality
The FLIR FXC home security camera is in a league of its own when it comes to high quality resolution. Capturing footage up to 2K resolution (2,680 x 1,400), double that of 1080p you will pristine video quality. Not only will facial features be more distinctive, but the quality of the digital zoom function will be enhanced. The 155 degree field of view captures a whole room, giving you more security coverage and earlier motion detection, which gives you a chance to react. The FXC can see up to 40 feet away (12 metres) in the dark. The FLIR FXC uses a convenient infrared cut filter (ICF) that automatically switches between a full-colour daytime security video, to crisp black and white infrared video at night.

Remote viewing with FLIR Secure smartphone
Download the new FLIR Secure smartphone and tablet app to view live video from anywhere in the world. The exclusive RapidRecap feature summarises a day’s security footage into a short summary video, saving you from having to look through hours of footage. The FLIR FXC’s built-in microphone and speaker allows high-quality two-way communication from your smartphone or tablet to speak to anyone on the other end of the camera.

SmartZone - protect what matters
The SmartZone feature lets you monitor a specific area and receive motion activated push notifications to your smartphone or tablet. This feature also makes it easy to focus the FLIR FXC on a high-traffic doorway while ignoring irrelevant traffic from the street outside.

FLIR Cloud Storage
Save all your security footage and photos on the FLIR Cloud Storage. The free service plan included with the FLIR FXC allows two days of cloud history, 10GB of cloud storage and three free RapidRecaps, allowing you to recap eight hours’ worth of footage going back two days previous. It’s easy to upgrade to a paid monthly or yearly subscription where you will have 30 days of cloud history, unlimited cloud storage, more accurate motion detection and unlimited use of Rapid Recaps.

MicroSD Internal Storage
Use the included 16GB MicroSD card to save all your captured security footage. Storing all your content on a MicroSD card means you can transfer any important footage on your computer or mobile phone to share with the police or family and neighbours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flir hd 4mp camera I have 2 flir fx cameras and thought I would see the difference with a hd camera. I employ all cameras looking through windows from inside the house. The hd camera has improved night images under street lighting and colour definition is much improved over the flir fx. The camera image can be jumpy sometimes and resolution correct happen but it's not a problem. Rapid recap is great for a quick summary over 12 hours compared to the fx 6 hours max. The camera is made a bit unstable by the power cable connection at the top, but this can be overcome. Overall a great camera for home security. I do not use the IR function as the camera looks through the window. The frame rate is reduced over the flir fx but more detail is available , no complaints there.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is a sales tool Whilst camera quality is great the framework is restricted to limit your secure control of video on your network. Support articles are poor. Online submission pages are restricted and poor. International phone numbers not accepted. Cloud options are heavily limited unless you pay them more money. Worst buy and not value for money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best to keep an eye out I bout this camera last year after a break in to my home and the building which also other residents were affected. The notion of having this camera at first was a bit daunting, felt a bit Big Brother with a need to know everything going on at home. However, I bought the camera and set it up to watch the external premises when I am not there. It alerts me if there is a motion and if there is a person. It does give a little peace of mind knowing you can see who is coming to your door and the feature of talk back is pretty good too. If you want to see what is happening to your property when not home or on vacation, get this camera. It really has eased the anxiety. Not saying it will stop burglars but it will help with evidence if needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great picture quality.... Bought to monitor my sleep but as I cannot find out how to make a continuous recording I'm a little disappointed. Picture quality however is great. I have had a few issues with the 2 way speaker - as in the person at the other end cannot always understand what is being said, but I didn't buy it for that feature anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unable to access camera remotely Apart from a great picture quality there are no other positives about the camera. I was not able to connect to the camera from my PC nor my mobile. I had previously had Netgear Arlo and never had such problems. I will be returning the camera as I am unable to use it remotely. The app is very slow so does Lorex website. I have tried various computers and networks. Shame they do not give spec requirements prior to purchase!

When I try and view the camera on my PC this message appears: error occurred on trying to display video. What does this mean?

Asked by: John
This could be a network (internet) connection failure. The network connection may have failed . Or if its when using the SD card , it could be a problem with that SD card, and unable to view the files. Or the file is not in the correct file format for the PC.

Hi, I note your answer that this does not run from batteries. I hope this means it does run on mains power but please confirm what power supply would be needed. Regards, Tony.

Asked by: 13ton
The power adapter is included with the product. The specifications of the power supply have not been provided.

i am currently in India and my camera says it is offline. i know it is not because before i select it there is a screenshot of the room showing it is online. this keeps happening and clearly while i am away is the time i need it to work most. ideas?

Asked by: craig
The screenshot is usually linked to the last connected image the camera saw and is used purely to help identify a individual camera when there are multiple linked to the same account. If the camera is showing offline when you click and try to access it, then either there are issues with the internet speed where you are, preventing a stable connection, or there is an issue with the connection between the camera, router and internet at the camera's location. If you are still having connection issues the next time you are back with the camera, please give us a call on 0333 400 9500 and we can attempt to diagnose the issue with you, however this would be impossible to do while you are away from the camera

Although it says indoor can I mount it externally to cover my garage and driveway please?

Asked by: witchfinder
Unfortunately this product is not designed for outdoor use so I would not recommend leaving this outdoors as this may damage the unit.
