Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this power supply to replace one on a "Budget" core 2 duo E5300 computer due to the noise level of the supplied power supply. It reduced the noise level by about 80%(in fact when I first switched it on I thought the fan was not running it was so quiet) making my budget computer so much better to use as well as moving me from 300W to 580W and allowing me to easily upgrade my graphics card! So far an excellent buy and well worth the money I have only rated it at 4 though as it does not have a pci express graphics card connector

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The PSU seems nice and quiet. However be warned that you will probably need to buy extension cables or adaptors to get it to work with your motherboard! I needed to buy an 8-Pin (12V) to 4-Pin Power Cable (Order Code: A50GN) & an Extension 24pin ATX / BTX Cable (Order Code: A21GF) which cost me Ј6. I'm thankful I bought it on promotion otherwise I would only have given it 1 star.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be careful of this one. It says that there is a twenty four pin power connector, and an eight pin power connector, but what it doesn't say is that you can't have both at the same time. The unit comes with a twenty pin plug, and two four pin plugs, so you can pair the two four pins together to get an eight pin, or the twenty and a four pin together to get a twenty four pin, but if you need both - well that's tough luck. I didn't know that buying a power supply for a computer could be such a hassle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent PSU for the a budget PC. I've owned this PSU now for a year and all i can say for it is that its a decent PSU, However it doesn't come with 6pin PCI connector, The Cables are short and are really is being stretched in my case which is the Zalman z9 plus and its only got 1 sata plug. But that was fine as on my rig i only had 1 hdd, no GPU and no other drives that needed a sata port but since then i have 3 hdd, 1 disk drive, AMDFX 6300 and a hd 7770 GPU and yes i needed to spend a little bit more for the extra cables to plugin it in to the molex connectors but i haven't got a problem with it since i had the upgrades put in 4 months ago so its pretty reliable TBH. If you are in a rush for a new PSU and your build was like mine when i first built it then i recommend it. But if it like my build now being i would opt for a higher end one. Perhaps Corsair as there more reliable and come with all the cables you will need. I got this as i was in a rush for it as i needed it because i was going to College and i needed a PC for my work and this was my only one. I'm now looking at a new PSU for my build as i want the extra power, Cable support for future upgrades. However its still a nice PSU and i will use my one in another build i make at later date.

Is (G7 580W ATX PC Power Supply) a compatible replacement PSU for a Dell Dimension 4500? (PSU Model NPS-250KB A). PC has 2 x IDE Hardrives, 1 x CD Drive, Floppy drive not working).

Asked by: MGDF
Unforantly Dells don't tend to use standard size power supplies so I would not be able to say for sure if it will fit.
