Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this less than 1 year ago but it developed a high pitch noise as soon as the mains lead is plugged in. The pitch started off pretty quiet but got more and more noticeable. Replaced PSU with a Corsair one. The unit may be cheap but I expected it to last more 1 year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought one of these at the weekend since it was on promotion and seemed good value. I built my machine, installed Ubuntu, everything was fine for a couple of days. Then something tripped the house RCD and when I turned the machine on again, expecting to have to run a disk check, the machine was dead. I checked the pins on the PSU and one of the +4 pins reads over 11v when it should be 5v. My machine is now dead and I will have to replace motherboard and CPU. moderator note: the unit (as with all ATX supplies) produces a regulated voltage on all outputs. If the unit is being measured correctly and it is somehow producing an incorrect voltage then it is likely that the external cause of the "RCD trip" reffered to by the reviewer has damaged the regulator within this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install, even for a non-techhead such as myself, and works as advertised. One important point to note is that the connector to the motherboard will fit both 20- and 24-pin sockets without requiring an adaptor, which is an attractive feature for anyone who might upgrade their system at some point and wish to keep the PSU. Strangely, despite being on promotion, this product was not stocked on the shelves at the branch I went to, nor was there a place or label for it on the shelves. A very helpful assistant took the trouble to check the stockroom for me, twice, and I really couldn't be more complimentary of the product, the value for money or the service I received.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a great PSU at all. It doesn't output any the readings it boasts. If all you want it for is a very cheap test PSU and it's on offer, by all means risk it, but if you plan to do anything else, especially gaming then don't expect it to survive for long.

This unit only has 3 x molex. Is it possible to use some kind of splitter to be able to power further molex units or would it be better to buy a PSU that has additional molex capacity.

you could use a molex splitter such as our code A26AB. To ensure the best performance of your system though you are possibly better looking for a unit with the right amount of connectors to suit your system.
